Ideally located next to a motorway, but you cant get to it from the motorway. But thats not The Bridge's fault, just worth pointing out. I imagine if it was easily accessible, it would be a lot more busier. Some say 'its dated', but it is an 18th century Coach Inn, so there is an attempt to keep its historic character, and if the travelers of a bygone era prefered their paint to be peeling from the ceiling, and their wallpaper to be peeling from the walls, then who are we to judge. It just added to the character. The staff couldnt do enough, even before we asked for anything. So cannot fault the smiles and joy they brought. Carvery was hot. Which is a biggy. Beef was tough, but service was so good, they provided a steak knife upon request. We would happily return. So i suppose thats the only review you need!

Upon arrival there was a slight mix up but this was resolved very quickly, I wasn’t totally happy with the room I was offered so Christine ensured that we got a more suitable room for me and my family. To say it was Christmas Eve she was fantastic and is a huge credit to the hotel. Thank you to Joshua as well for ensuring that we had a spare bed for my child despite it not being on the booking at check in, all of the staff were great very friendly and positive they made our Christmas.

We had our wedding at The Bridge Hotel on Saturday, 07.02.26. The venue was stunning, and we had such a magical day from beginning to end. Becky, our wedding co-ordinator, was amazing, she made us feel that nothing was too much trouble, and took away all the planning stress. We cannot thank her enough! The staff were so lovely and attentive. We were made to feel really special and we will always rememer them when we think about our day. Our guests had nothing but positive things to say, especially how good the food was! There is not one thing I would change about our day, not even the rain! Thank you all so much for giving us the most amazing start to our married life together. Mr and Mrs Law

We had our wedding at the bridge on 28.02.26 and we had the most amazing day thanks to all the staff. The wedding coordinator Becky was amazing from start to finish she answered all our question from booking to the day and even checking in afterwards she was really quick on responding. On the morning she checked in and made sure we were happy. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Thank you so much Becky. Also special mention to our toastmasters for the day Marie and Tyler who were also great they made sure the day and evening ran smoothly and checked in with us to make sure we were ok thank you and to the lady on reception Jen who was so friendly the day before and on the day everytime I left the room she was checking i was ok and whether I needed any food thank you. Our guests have commented on how nice and friendly all the staff were during their stay. We cant thank you enough for how amazing our day went. Thank you

All in all we had a very pleasant weekend. We stayed from 29th Nov to 1st Dec. The lady who booked us in on Saturday afternoon was welcoming and informed us of times (and booked us in) for dinner in the beautiful glass walled dining room. The Sunday evening meal was much better than the Saturday (Turkey so dry I was served a spoonful of bits). On Sunday all was cooked well. Also I must mention the lady who waited on our table Becky. She was efficient and pleasant.

As usual the staff were superb and we kindly got upgraded to a suite as it was my husband’s birthday and we got married here 5 years ago. The room was lovely and we had drinks in the bar before dinner. Unfortunately the carvery wasn’t good and I have this problem every time I choose it. The starter was fine but the carvery was stone cold with watery tasteless gravy, soggy vegetables and no Yorkshire puddings. There was nobody manning the carvery and the waiter who served us also served me at the carvery. It’s such a shame as the meat was lovely but there doesn’t seem to be anything in place to keep it properly hot. My husband had the chicken burger which was excellent and the staff gave him a happy bday brownie as a surprise. The breakfast the next day was tasty, so overall an excellent stay but let down by the carvery once again.

The wife and I, along with another couple, visited The Bridge Hotel for their Scrooge – A Christmas Carol dining event and had a fantastic evening. We were seated in the restaurant and offered a choice of starters — I went for the garlic mushrooms, which were excellent. The main course was a carvery; I had perfectly cooked roast beef, while my wife enjoyed both roast beef and turkey. The meal came with roast and mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables. My only minor comment would be that the veg was slightly overcooked for my preference, but overall the food was very nice. All staff were friendly and attentive. For dessert there was a choice again — I opted for cheese and biscuits — followed by coffee and mince pies to finish. Between courses we were treated to a performance of Scrooge – A Christmas Carol. The actors were entertaining, humorous in parts, and genuinely first class. It really added something special to the evening. At £45 per head, I’d say the event offered good value for money, and drinks were served throughout at very reasonable prices. We thoroughly enjoyed the night and would happily recommend it.

Had an amazing early valentines spa day here . Booked as extra, a 30 minute back massage and the massage chair with face mask and foot spa. We did want more treatments but were told these are best pre booked so they have availability for therapists as there wasnt enough time . So bare that in mind if you want to book for treatments. The staff were amazing. Had a 2 course meal included which was also lovely. Overall great experience and will book again.
